The Flight Attendant role requires you:

Complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test and background check
Accept assignment to any base after training graduation and relocate or commute (i.e. standby travel) to and from assigned base location

Safety and security is of utmost importance at Delta Air Lines. Delta has bases in multiple locations. Upon graduation, our Flight Attendants are assigned to work at one of our open bases. This may require either relocation or commuting on your own time to and from work to complete your assigned routes. Commuting includes flying on a standby status using your company-issued flight benefit/passes but does not guarantee travel. It may require overnights in hotels and/or short term leases. For these reasons, commuting can be an impractical and undesirable option. It will be your choice to relocate or commute to your assigned base. Delta Flight Attendants can be scheduled any day and time of the week including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules are published at least two weeks prior to the next month. Newly-hired Delta Flight Attendants must successfully complete training prior to working in the role. This training is six weeks in length and takes place in Atlanta. During training, Delta provides participants with training pay and some meals. In addition, for those who don't live in the Atlanta metropolitan area, accommodations are provided as well. The job of a Delta Flight Attendant includes a wide variety of duties and tasks, some of which are difficult. These include: standing for long periods of time, working in close proximity to others, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our customers, and occasionally working within a challenging customer service environment. Are you willing to serve wholeheartedly in such a position? *

Delta Flight Attendants must be able to push and pull beverage / food carts that may weigh up to 32 pounds, manually open and close emergency exit and aircraft doors which can be as high as 68 inches from the floor and weigh up to 60 pounds, stand, bend, stretch, reach, etc. Are you willing to do this? *

Because Delta flies to destinations all around the world, prior to training, new Flight Attendants must obtain documentation that allows them to enter and exit the United States without restriction.
